1 Happyhillock Shopping Centre, Happyhillock Road,
We made the mistake of ordering a takeaway curry from this place a few weeks ago and regretted it immediately (well not immediately because it took about two hours to arrive but you get my drift!)I don't like leaving bad reviews and perhaps ours was a one off experience but the food was really bad, we only ate it because we were hungry really. The currys bore no resemblance to anything we've had before or since. They were bland, unappetising, full of really weird combinations of ingredients half of which you really could not identify (maybe a good thing really!)Our overriding memory is of warm orange glutinous slop to be avoided at all costs. Maybe they were just having an off night! The best thing about it was the rather entertaining menu which came with the food!In future I think we'll just make one ourselves with a jar or two of Pataks!
The name of this place is a bit of a misnomer. There's nothing fast about the service here. They take as long as any other Indian takeaway and on occasion they are quite slow (weekends are particularly slow) so if you order a delivery it won’t come in a hurry! The food is entirely average too. Good for when you're starving but otherwise you'll probably go elsewhere. The starters are predictably good, the lamb dishes are better than the chicken dishes, the naan isn't anything special but it's okay. The guys are quite good about trying to accommodate your requests and yet, there's still nothing to really recommend this place.
