Rip-off merchants

I took my Citroen Xsara Picasso here in Feb 2011 with a power steering leak. I was quoted the best part of �£300 to fix the problem (�£188 for new pipes, �£60 labour plus VAT). This seemed excessive so I decided to wait until I could have my home-town trusted mechanic look at the problem. He successfully diagnosed it as having a leak in the return pipe, which he easily fixed in an hour (without replacing the entire pipes) for a grant total of �£50. Therefore, I would say the mechanics at Diesel Fuel Systems in Peddie St Dundee are entirely untrustworthy and immoral. I must also point out that my car was approximately 4-5 litres of petrol lighter than when I took it in, which I assume they siphoned off to cover their “costs” of looking at the car. In summary, these guys are rip-off merchants who should be at all costs (no pun intended).
